After a year since starting the blog, this will be my first personal blog that I will be writing. Earlier this year I had made a gentleman’s agreement with a friend to go to the gym with him. This wasn’t gonna be a simple gym workout, this was going to change my life and it has. I was hesitant at first because of the way I looked. For most of my life I have been very skinny and had been made fun of because of it. I honestly did not feel comfortable with how I looked being at the gym. I thought how would I be able to do this, I felt like people would think what is this scrawny guy doing. Well I had to overcome that fear and I did that with my music. Music has been apart of my life and helped me get through so much, why couldn’t it get me through this. It really is amazing to see the power that music has over us. Whether it be that epic rock song that pushes you through your last rep on the bench press, or the powerful instrumental you have on blast through your headphones while your finishing up your run on the treadmill. Music is so inspiring it can make us do things we never thought possible. We have a connection to it that sometimes might not make sense, but it pushes us. I pushed through the pain and now I’m in the best shape of my life. When I first started working out I was 140 lbs, now I’m over 180 lbs. I passed the original goal weight I wanted (175) to be at set myself another goal (200). I’m doing this with no steroids, no supplements, just pure heart, eating right and my music. Below is a picture of me before and after.
